Cameron Bailey: More Than Just a Boy with a Guitar

By: Hannah Oreskovich

Boulder’s Cameron Bailey refers to himself as, “just a soft spoken musician”. And though his style may be stripped down, (his debut EP was recorded DIY with nothing but Bailey and his guitar) Cameron is making more noise in the local scene than he gives himself credit for.

Originally from Chicago, Bailey started writing music as a child on saxophone. But it wasn’t until last year that he decided to share his indie-folk sound with friends, and eventually local crowds. Soon, that turned into Bailey recording his debut EP, aptly titled A Boy & His Guitar.

True to his honest style, Bailey recorded the release by laying down every track in just one take. Bailey’s raw vocals are showcased throughout the EP’s seven songs, whether on the intense and emotional “Short Song for a Lost Lover” or the catchy, ear-pleasing, and subtly funny “Lullaby for a Dog”.
